i text this video to some of my family members and closest friends, last week... but, i have since played it over and over again and had to post it for my fellow bloggers to see. i did NOT choreograph this routine with her (come on, she isn't even 2)...she just LOVES to dance, (as do all of the girls on the Wilson side....we enrolled early). As Aunt Poco would say...looks like she is part Wilson after all.
and it looks like i will be enrolling this girl in some sort of dance class come fall.

9 months...really? yes, really.

i always talk about how thankful i am for my family and friends...
but last weekend, i was very thankful.
Baylor was playing Missouri in basketball and Walt and i loaded up the girls and made the trek, once again, up to waco. well, as luck would have it, on our way there...we found out that the game was sold out.
well...walt really wanted to go to the game..
so my sweet sister gave up her ticket, so walt could go.
and then once my sweet sue found out that poco and i were going to hang out with my babies all day just walking around campus, getting some common grounds, and going to george's...she decided to stay behind as well.
needless to say, i was so thankful that they stayed behind to help me out.
and here are sue and eloise at george's...
sue is a natural...eloise was sleepy, and sue just talked to her, and rocked her to sleep.

after the game, we went and stayed at our friend's ranch house..
and this is where you could always find eloise.
right in aunt "poto's" lap.

then the weekend was over...boo.
however, i did snap some pics of daddy pushing the girls around in their car and little wagon.
i totally know that the wagon was not meant for a child to ride around in it...
but...daddy had another idea...
and i thought it was pretty darn cute.

and yes...it is time for another monthly post.
a NINE month post.
holy moly.
not like i didn't know this already, BUT...emerson is getting harder and harder to snap
pictures of...
she is just a mover and a shaker.
now..if you follow my blog at all..you know that every single time i take the camera out..
emerson's mouth just opens up...
she is always just all smiles.

she is FINALLY crawling!
it took us quite a while, and we still are not that good at it.
emerson is so funny...instead of crawling, she does the matrix move to get around...
and i can't even begin to explain it.

you are SUCH a good sleeper!
you sleep from 9-11/1-3 and then you go down around 7:30 and sleep until 7:30

you are extremely curious...
into everything!!

you want to be with your sister all the time.
i love that i can now leave you two in a room together...and you two just play and play
i love the laughter!!

you are the happiest, most carefree baby..EVER!

you no longer eat any baby food.
you want nothing to do with it.
NOTHING.
I LOVE this...
you absolutely LOVE grill cheese (my kind of girl) green beans, scalloped potatoes, corn dogs, bread, broccoli, carrots, yogurt, pancakes, chicken, spaghetti, bacon...the list could GO ON!
and like i said earlier...
you are now finally on the go!!

and the other day, i snapped some pictures of emerson, eloise and carson out in old town katy.

eloise and carson are 2 weeks apart and have been together since the beginning...

and i got one of my two little loves

milestones

here's to another post about my children.
but, i can't help it.
we've had some milestones...several milestones over the past week...
and as a momma who blogs,
i must document it.

the first milestone is HUGE.
OH SO HUGE.
and it makes me OH SO HAPPY.
I can't tell you how long I have waited for this...
how I have looked at other moms and been jealous....and looked at little girls and just wanted to take them home with me and play with their hair...
I can now put a RUBBER BAND in my child's hair and ATTACH a BOW to it!!
Oh my goodness..isn't that the most incredible thing ever!!??
I'm talking...we've gone over a week now with a bow in our hair...
I knew I needed to distract her, and Eloise LOVES to brush her teeth...so..
I just let her brush her teeth, and while she is doing that...
Tada!!

and then there was day 2

and we even kept the bow in our hair while we had friends over to play!
I can't even begin to tell you HOW happy this makes me...
now, I have to go to the store and buy some more bows with clips...but who cares!!

and a milestone for this little bit...
not only is she sitting up on her own (I'm talking will be laying flat on her back and then BAM, she is up sitting ) she is also pulling up on EVERYTHING (still not crawling real well)
we have also decided that we LOVE Italian food..

OH goodness..the girl loves food, which is not a new thing, but
she is obsessed with it!
(and yes, I know that my child always has her mouth open....always)

now this isn't a milestone...but I walked in to check on both girls the other day while they were napping...they have both always scared me how they sleep...the get right up under the bumper...but I had to let out a little chuckle when I went in to their rooms and saw both of them like this:

walt and i took our girls to chik-fil-a on saturday NIGHT..
why is this a milestone?
This was their first dinner date with daddy...
even though momma tagged along...
we are going to make it a routine for daddy to take his girls out...
so these two little loves can see how a real gentleman should treat little ladies. :)

and the biggest milestone of all??
which made me shed some real big tears...
we've gone almost 2 weeks staying dry throughout the night!
baby girl isn't even 2...
I am one proud momma!
We are COMPLETELY potty trained..
so Sunday was spent making a mommy/daughter trip to Wal-Mart to let BIG E pick out two packages of big girl panties...
Dora and Minnie.
and now the girl never wants to take them off!
Some people thought I was crazy with the method I used...but..hey..it worked!
and I am going to do it with the little e as well!

last weekend was one of the first weekends in quite some time that we had "nothing" to do.
No Baylor football (tear)
No birthday parties
No work
No family in town...
it was just us.
it was....
quite.

So, we decided that we would go and take Eloise's 2 year pictures. There really was absolutely no point in hiring someone to do it because our child hates the camera. So...we went and did it ourselves. And...I must say...I was happy about how they turned out. It's not like I need a whole slew of pictures of Eloise from her 2 year photo shoot...but to get 3 or 4 really good ones...I was happy with that.

Speaking of her 2 year photo shoot...
I am trying to come to grips with the fact that in a month I will have a TWO year old.
Like, are you kidding me?
It's bad enough that my littlest love is pulling up on things, wanting to eat real food, and starting to crawl.
and if you really want to get technical...in THREE short months I will have a ONE and a TWO year old.
I think it's safe to say that I cry all the time in this household.
Happy that they are healthy and growing...but oh my goodness they grow WAY TOO FAST!

Like I now have a daughter who likes to pick out her own clothes...
and some days I let her.
but..I have to be cautious because I would never want her going out in public dressed like this...

and I have another daughter who can now truly enjoy bathtime with her sister because we have graduated from the bumbo to sitting up all by herself

over the break Walt's aunt and uncle were nice enough to let us use a t.v. that they were no longer using...we put it in the playroom, and now Eloise never comes out.
Seriously, she comes out to eat, and go to the bathroom...that's it.

I came into her room the other day and this is what I found.
She is such a little camera hog..always smiling for that camera! :)

Ever since Eloise has been born I have constantly complained because she had no hair.. but..I guess patience really is a virtue...because my girl might not have hair...but she has CURLS!!

hello twenty twelve.seriously?
2012, already?
I can't even begin to imagine what 2012 has in store for my family.
2009-we moved to houston2010-
we welcomed sweet eloise
2011-we welcomed sweet emerson
2012--WHO KNOWS!!

I know I have been bad and I haven't blogged in a while, but I know that everyone understands with the holidays how days just kind of slip away from you.
I couldn't NOT blog and post about my sweet little emerson who turned 8 months old,
almost half a month ago.
I am reminded every day how blessed I am to have this sweet baby in my life.
It never fails.
I am having a crap day and all of a sudden she just looks at me and I melt.
Her little smile..that's all it takes.
Emerson, you have the most laid back personality and you are quite possibly the sweetest thing that has ever graced the face of this earth.
You are still the shortest little thing...but I think the weight is starting to catch up with you since you LOVE people food.
mashed potatoes, carrots, bread, pasta, cheese..pretty much everything CARB loaded, and I LOVE that about you.
The other day I asked Eloise if she wanted to try something and she said, "No, but, sister will try it."
She is RIGHT...you will try anything.
You are now on your second ear infection...poor girl, and I am hoping that you aren't on your way to tubes, like your sister, but if you are...it will be fine.
You take two naps.
9-11 and 1-3.
You go down between 7:30-8 and sleep until 7ish the next morning.
You are wanting to crawl...you get up on all fours and just rock...we are almost there.
You still do not have ANY teeth.
That's ok..I love your gummy smile.
You are the JOY in our life..and the best little sister ever.

oh..christmas.
can I just tell you how much fun Christmas was this year?
Not that I am wanting to wish Emerson's life away, but I can't wait until next year when both of my girls are anxious and totally get Santa.
We had so much fun getting ready for Christmas, and of course, now that it is all down...my house looks completely bare.
Eloise helped momma bake cookies for Santa,
we went to the Children's Christmas Eve Service at St. Luke's UMC,
Walt and I started new traditions with our girls...and carried on traditions from our families..
it was perfect.
and now every time Eloise sings "Happy Birthday" she still specifically sings to Baby Jesus.

after Christmas we drove back to Houston, and then left the next day for San Antonio for the Baylor Bowl game.
Lalee watched our girls from Thursday-Sunday morning...and we were so grateful.
We had never been away from our girls for that long...but we had an amazing time, and Baylor won!!
After the game we ventured to one of our friend's ranch houses to spend New Year's with friends.
The time away was great..but man, did we miss our babies.

We had a wonderful New Years..but
I LOVED coming home!!

I hope everyone had a great New Years as well.
When out at the ranch one of our friends asked us what was our greatest memory for 2011...
of course, it would be the birth of my second daughter...but my kids aside,
I am so thankful that at this point in my life I have true friends that I know will always be there. The close friends that I have right now, are the friends that I know will be in my life forever. I am so thankful for the friendships that have gotten stronger, and for the ones that have remained just a strong as ever.
Here's to 2012...may it bring you everything you've wished for!!

My Christmas List and some memories

well it seems after saturday night, i actually could compile a christmas list.
you know, with me having kids and all, it isn't about me.
it's all about the kids.
so my list...nada.
that is,
until saturday night.
what? you don't know what happened saturday night?
have you been living under a rock?
Robert Griffin III won the Heisman.
He is from BAYLOR University.
what? you didn't know that BAYLOR is my alma mater?
have you been living in a ditch?
oh my goodness, I can not even begin to tell you the pure joy and excitement that led up to that moment.
Walt and I have been season ticket holders the past three years.
i can count on one hand the number of home games we have missed in three years...and for the last two years, we have carted our children to almost every home game.
obviously we didn't buy season tickets because Baylor football was so amazing,
we bought season tickets because
WE LOVE BAYLOR.
and now having a HEIIISMAN winner (no, that was not a typo)
oh my goodness,
it just gives me goosebumps.
a well, deserved winner, I might add.

This moment right here, it's unbelievably believable. It's unbelievable because in the moment, we're all amazed when great things happen. It's believable because great things only happen with hard work. The great coach Art Briles always says great things only come with great effort, and we've certainly worked for this.

That's right, everybody associated with Baylor University has reason to celebrate tonight. To my teammates, I'd like to say thank you. As we say, the hotter the heat, the harder the steel. No pressure, no dominance. We compete, we win. We are Baylor. Baylor we are, Baylor we'll always be, but it's up to us to define what that means, and this Heisman Trophy is only the beginning of that process.

To Baylor nation, I say this is a forever kind of moment, and may we be blessed to have many more like it in the future. God has a plan, and it's our job to fulfill it, and in this moment we have.

Do you know how many times he said "We" in just that little excerpt? TEN TIMES.
I'd like to think that since I am a part of "baylor nation" that part of that speech was written for me...
that little baylor fanatic that carts her children to almost every game.
that supported her school through the loses and the wins..
and loves baylor just the same.
that is so unbelievably proud to say that we have a HEIIISMAN trophy winner
because he DOES represent ALL that baylor is about.

so...my wish list..
since I WILL be going to the Alamo Bowl
to see my team,
and that HEIIISMAN winner play...
nothing too fancy..
just a precious little shirt...
no words, but speaks volumes

but I must say, I've seen him play quite a lot.

I think it is pretty neat that both of my girls
have seen Baylor "Rise Up" and defeat all the odds.

stomach bug 2011

oh goodness. with two it is SO much worse. especially when they are as young as mine.
we had a great weekend.
we ventured to Baylor to the last game of the season,
we even went to church on Sunday and had a surprise visitor
and
we also went to a friend's birthday party...
then monday rolled around.
oh. oh. oh.
emerson started feeling crummy
turns out she has an ear infection
AND
she was throwing up.
the doctor specifically asked me about eloise...
my response..
"oh, eloise? she's fine."
ha.
WRONG
tuesday rolls around...
when eloise asked me if she could go "nigh night" at 10:30 in the morning, i knew something was off...
BOTH girls sick.
throwing up, fever, runny nose...
little eloise is crying looking at me saying, "body hurt"
and emerson...right after she throws up on me for the 5th time that day...what does she do?
she laughs.
of course she does...
that girl, always smiling.
wouldn't even know anything was wrong with her, if she wasn't throwing up.
and now it's wednesday....eloise is on the mend, em has only thrown up once...
but...it must come with the territory because...
now i've got it.
ugh. i hate you stomach bug.
despise you.
fingers crossed that walt doesn't get it.

we have been talking to eloise about santa...we've watched movies, she knows he brings her gifts, she's seen pictures...she was all excited, until she sat on his lap.
and emerson...i had given her a pancake 10 minutes before...little did i know, until the picture, that she was chipmunking it!!

my emerson is putting on some weight since she's started eating some people food.
girl loves her carbs, what can i say? and she's still chimpmunking that pancake!

LOVE our church.
they had little crafts set up for the children to do.
Eloise was coloring one of her sheep that goes in the manger.
i'm thinking she has a pretty good grip on that marker!

she had all these nativity stickers to choose from to make her doorhanger.
she is obsessed with stickers.
obsessed.

to put all her goodies in.
i knew i had a long nose...but this picture..

Eloise was one of 2 girls there...all of my friends seem to have boys...but E loves it!

parenthood

hello. anyone out there still reading my blog? it seems as though i am not very good at juggling everything. it's 10:00 and blogging probably isn't what i should be doing right now, but i was tired of addressing christmas cards. love getting them. hate addressing them.

i am obsessed with the television show, parenthood.
obsessed.
i am 110% sure that i cry every episode. i don't know how that is possible, but somehow they get me.
every.single.time.
parenthood is by far the greatest show on television.
i can relate because i am a parent, but mostly i can relate because i have such a wonderful, crazy family.
i sometimes watch keeping up with the kardashians and think that they are similar to my family...but no.
i want my family to be more like parenthood.
i know it is a made up show, but the issues discussed, the love, the fear that i get watching the show realizing that one day my daughters ARE going to date, and they WILL go to prom...
the fact that when the ENTIRE family gets together, it's like they were never away from each other.
that is how it feels when i am with ANY member of my family.
extended family as well.

which made me think...with it being the holidays and all...
and how even if there are some things i really want...
if i take a step back and look from the sidelines...
i have a completely incredible life.
my wants are fulfilled by my family.

i have a 7 month old
who smiles at anything...
and who frankly is so stinking short she is STILL wearing size 3-6 month pants (but hey...this saves me money, right)

i have a 21 month old that is soaking up life as we know it...
and after all those times of me trying to get her to smile at the camera...
she finally realized what "CHEESE" was all about..

a brother that is a wonderful uncle
and who still acts like a kid and wants to play tag
anytime a youngster is around.

family members that know how to bring
a good time.
sure...the outcome of dance dance revolution wasn't the way we wanted it to be...
(No way Spencer is better than me and Poco...
and definitely NO WAY Walt is better than Poco.)
but we had fun while playing it...

a sister in law who clearly loves me.
she puts up with me ransacking her home and turning it into a "baby" house....
and i know she cleaned for hours...
and the second Hurricane Eloise arrived, it was all destroyed.
but...she never once complained.
ever.

*just look at Poco's technique here...it's a thousand times better than walt's, clearly.

a mother who loves with her whole heart
and has always put her children first.
and is incredibly beautiful!!!

a sister who stands by me through anything.
and she also cooks an amazing Thanksgiving meal.
but seriously...
i hope emerson is the type of younger sister to eloise that poco has been to me.

a baby girl who LoVEs to snuggle.

and who has some serious cute rolls on those legs.

a husband who provides for my family...
and who is letting me live out my dream and stay at home with my babes.
even if he does have to for go some things...

aunts who love my loves like their own.

siblings... (hate that my older sis Nichole isn't in this picture, but she was here in spirit)
love growing up with an instant circle of friends.
that's what my sisters and brother are...
my friends.
anytime i need them.
always there.
love all three of you.

and a little girl with such a huge imagination...
let's me know on a daily basis that she is growing up.

Grumpy Old Men

Well...I've officially done it. I've gotten REALLY behind with blogging. I'm so far behind, it would not be a surprise if within this post I told you that I had not been blogging because I've been feeling so sick, because Walt and I are expecting another child...

HA...don't worry...that is NOT the case!!
I've just gotten behind because I have two small children under the age of 20 months, and I can't ever find time to sit at the computer and blog.
BOO.
I don't like that it has come to that point.
But, on to another subject.
My darling husband officially turned OLD this weekend.
I'm talking, we've been together since he was 20..now he is 3o
He's old.

He also knows me really well...and he knew that I had something up my sleeve.
believe me, I can't take credit for it...I got it off Pinterest...
What did we do without pinterest?
Anyways...about a month ago I sent an email out to friends and family asking them to write down a memory that they had of Walt. They were asked to mail it in, and then on his birthday he would have 30 years of memories to open.
Well...Walt had about 45 memories, but it was so neat to read the memories.
I loved reading them and being reminded as to why I fell in love with him
Walt is such a good person, and a wonderful friend.
So, Friday night, the day of his birthday, I presented him with his envelopes and told him that this was in fact, what I had been working on.
He bought it.
And he also told me about a 1000 times that this was by far the greatest gift that he had ever received.

But of course, that wasn't all I had planned.
Like I said earlier...Walt is an old man.
He is a Grumpy Old Man.
So...after emailing his close friends...I asked them to dress as grumpy old men and come over to the house on Saturday morning to wake Walt up and take him to go do things that Grumpy Old Men do.
It was great...they showed up at 7 and Walt was still asleep...
He had no clue.
Classic.

So the boys, I mean, grumpy old men, left to go play golf at the crack of dawn...
such good sports.. all dressed up in their old men gear

and then after golf, it was off to the brewery... where the girls could join in on the fun as well..

oh yes, i let my child eat off the floor.
hey, if i've told her a 1000 times and she's still doing it...
I can't change her. :)

i must tell you...walt must really mean something to me, because saturday night was the FIRST time EVER that I have left my children with a babysitter.
Sure, i've left them with friends and family...

my oldest child HATES the camera.
HATES IT.
I think it is because I always have the camera out, and she has slowly figured out that momma is taking pictures.
She will pick up the camera and say cheese, like she is taking a picture, but when you turn it on her...
OH, NO MA'AM.
She is NOT having it.

We went home this weekend and Walt's cousin, who is a fabulous photographer, took some family pictures... {thank you Patrick, for putting up with us!!}
these were meant to be for our annual Christmas card.
BUT, I have a child that has a mind of her own, and she decided against it.
We tried everything.
EVERYTHING... to get her to take that sour puss look off of her face and smile for the camera...
BUT, to no avail, she stood her ground.
So, here's my question...
Mommas... what do you do to get your child to actually look like they are sweet and innocent?
How do you grab their attention?
My child just starts crying like a toddler...
because she is one, but still...
nothing can turn her off...
not the ABC's, the Itsy Bitsy Spider...nothing.
I need help...because I can't NOT have Eloise in our family Christmas picture!!

what a month.
this month has been crazy packed.
crazy
i had the opportunity to be the floating tutor at my school two days a week, and i started up with that.
who would have ever thought that actually getting ready for just two days would be exhausting?
not me
but, it is.
however, i love it.
the girls love it.
they are able to play all day long with friends, and momma is able to still teach...which will always be a passion of mine.
then it seems as though every other day of the week is jammed pack with things
and the weekends.
oh don't even get me started on the weekends.
thankful that we have season tickets, because football games are fun.
thankful that we have friends who want to spend the weekends with us doing things that we don't always get to do.
i am not in any way griping about my crazy hectic life.
i love it...but then i go back and look at my pictures and think..
is it really possible that i already have a 20 month old and a 6 month old?
where does all the time go?

how is it possible that my babies went from this?

to this?

and how can it be that 6 months ago I had this?

and now this?

and i must say that i think
i could quite possibly have the smilest girl in the whole wide world.

gambi bought her some masks
and now this is what i see every day.
believe me, this is done without any tempting from me
we've even gone to the supermarket like this.

OH, and we've discovered that we have an allergy...to of all things...
PEANUTS
of all allergies to get, right?
we are going to the doctor today to schedule a day so that we can get tested to see
just how bad it is.

we've had some shirts made for thanksgiving

and we even bundled up one day to go for a walk in the COLD!!

and we were even able to get away and go to our friend's ranch house last weekend.
baylor was playing at A&M (and we lost...eh hum)

oh, and one other thing that Eloise has done.
she has developed her first crush.
I honestly did not think it would come so soon,

She is IN LOVE with Harrison Walker Burg.
I'm talking, will walk up to his picture and kiss it,
gets all shy the moment he walks into the room and hides
however, her face lights up the moment she sees him
it is extremely hilarious
anytime we were out of the car..

oh and in other news...
i now have a 6 month old.
WHAT?

she is cheering because in 6 months, she'll be eating cake!

mom: "Emerson, what do you want for your 1st birthday?"
Emerson: "hehe, if you only knew how much money i am going to make diddy spend!!"

i can't even wrap my brain around it.

i think it is safe to say that the second you become a mom your body is programmed to just cry on the spot.

we go to the doctor today for her 6 month check up
she might weigh as much as eloise did, but she is no where near as tall as her
i might have a 6 month old, but she has 3 month legs.
you love your oatmeal in the mornings
you eat a fruit for lunch and 2 veggies at night
you have been sleeping 8 hours since 2 months...but you just now started going 12 hours at night...HALLELUJAH

people often mistake my children for boys. why? because of their hair...wait, wait, wait...i mean their LACK of hair. I feel sorry for them. They are NOT the ones to blame. see that picture above...that's me..on the right. yep, sporting NO hair. thank goodness my mother decided to put me in a dress or else, i too, might think that i was, in fact. a male.

she's 6 months...i've been looking at her lately thinking that she is extremely bald.

i mean, she is pretty bald here....

smiley...but still bald.

bow is the only thing that shouts girl.

so, i went through and looked at eloise's pictures at 6 months...

what was i thinking? she's bald as well.

i don't even think i can decide who has more hair...

they are both BALD.

neither one of them have really anything that you can call hair.

goodness, how did they get so bald.

I love my Baylor Bears. Like, LOVE them. One must really LOVE their school when they are used to losing games more than winning...and they STILL buy season tickets to support their team. I mean, I am proud of my Alma Mater, whether my bears win or lose...
but, I am totally LOVING this year's football season.
Now mind you, we only finished the 2nd week of conference play, but still...
after the 1st game of the season, my Bears have been ranked.
It's exciting.
As of now we are ranked higher than UT and A&M....let's just keep our fingers crossed for the game next weekend against the Ags.
So...since it IS football season, our weekends are mainly spent in Waco.
Makes me miss Waco...not necessarily college...but I MISS Waco.
Like, iwanttomovethererightnow.....miss Waco.

There is just something about spending a Saturday at George's, even if you can't go into the bar because you have two babies.
Saturdays are perfect when you have George's, tailgating, and then a football game.

How Great is Our God?

There are certain things that happen in your life where you CAN'T question that there IS a God. I know that God is here, and He is always working in our lives. What a wonderful God we serve. I will never be able to grasp how my 90 year old grandfather, who NEVER wears his seatbelt, decided that today he would put his seatbelt on...and was in a car wreck. His car was totaled, his airbags went off, he was thrown from his car. How did this 90 year old, fragile man walk away without any broken bones? How can it be that this 90 year old man was rushed to the ER, and by the time he arrived he was joking with the nurses?
one word.
God.
Thank you God...I'm not quite ready to let go of this wonderful man just yet.
Praising God for all of his wonderful works today.

one thing i love about not teaching is the fact that i can pick up and go whenever i want.
last week, we decided to make a little trip to visit family.
it was much needed.
makes me wish that we all just lived in the same town, but it also makes me happy for the time we have together.
while we were gone...this little one turned 5 months old.
so, i snapped a few pics this morning, to document.

then eloise got a little jealous because all of my attention was on emerson,
so i let her join in.
but...
emerson got upset.
DRAMA...
girls ARE drama though, aren't they?

oh little emmy...
i can't believe 5 months has passed...
only because i now know what all is in store for you, and i know that you are no longer a little newborn.
sad face.
at 5 months you are eating 7 oz. every 4 hours.
you are still on your medication that is working so beautifully for you, thank goodness.
you take 3 naps.
a 3o min nap in the morning
a 3 hour nap in the afternoon
and a 30min-1 hr nap before dinner time
you are starting to try foods...and you LOVE them.
you go down around 8, and eat at 11
then sleep until 7 the next morning
hopefully this month you will start to sleep for 12 hours straight
i'm not complaining, though
you wear size 2 diapers
and 3-6 month clothes
you smile all the time, and when you smile...your face just lights up all over
you are quite the talking
and
you longingly stare at your big sister and want to do things with her
sweetie...your time will come. promise.

so...like i said earlier...we packed up and headed to see family.
i stayed at my mom's last weekend, and then we went to north east texas to see lalee & pops.
while in Dallas
we ventured to Grapefest.
So fun.
eloise rode her first carousel with Gambi
she was a little unsure at first, but ended up loving it.

while E was on the ride, little Em decided it was best for her to nap...
i just can't get over her lips. i really can't.

of course if you are going to go to the "fair" one MUST have cotton candy.

and i think i have mentioned before that eloise is OBSESSED with bubbles...
so, what do you know...
the fair had a bubble gun...
oh goodness she just played and played
Gambi had fun getting her!!

then it was time to go to Daingerfield.
Lalee was able to get in a lot of "grandma" time.

Lalee also had her hands full....but it looks like she was enjoying it. :)

Uncle Tucker had a Jr. High football game on Thursday night, so of course we had to attend. What FUN we had.
Eloise and Emerson wore shirts proudly stating who their uncle was... #51!!
I was impressed watching Tucker play...what a football player!!
Eloise, LOVED the band...and just danced and danced on the sidelines...
I see cheerleading in her future.

eloise was afraid to be held by the tiger...she would tell her "hi" and "bye", but did not want anything to do with her...
Emerson, of course, didn't know the difference.

Daddy came in to Daingerfield on Thursday night, so we were able to spend all day Friday with him.
We went to the state park and had a ball.
A trip to the state park isn't complete without a Sonic drink!

the b.o.b. DEFINITELY came in handy here...it was bumpy!!!

eloise has been very aware of when her diddy leaves.
this video is hilarious..he went in to subway and she was so upset...but the second she noticed him again...she was all smiles

and we were able to see Super Nana and Super Poppy, twice!
On Saturday we went over there and it was so nice outside, we hung out on their back porch and ate hamburgers...
so blessed to still have my nana and poppy in my life.

and then the weekend came to a close by going to church on Sunday.
The girls went to the nursery with their Lalee, and Walt and I were able to hear a wonderful sermon.

and after a little hershey kiss and some milk...this one was TIRED and was fast asleep.

I tried for a really looooong time to think that I was one of the "cool" kids. That I was really and truly one of the only people who knew about pinterest. Like, it was bad. I didn't want to post about it, because then people would know about it. I didn't want to "invite" my friends, because then all ~~my ideas~~, the ideas that I found on the computer would no longer seem "creative." And to think that I was invited by a friend of mine...and I didn't even stumble upon it myself. But now it seems as though pinterest has caught on with the rest of the world...just like facebook...hello, we are talking I have had facebook since 2004...long before it was popular, and now everyone can see where I came up with all my neat ideas.

Bummer.

But even still... I am addicted.

It's extremely hard not to be.

and there are some things that I think to myself..."why didn't I think of that?"
Like the activity that Eloise and I did today.

Today we painted with shaving cream.

I originally made homemade bubbles to play with outside, but after going outside and realizing that the mosquitoes have come back, I quickly took all 3 girls back in.

and I whipped up a really fast batch of "paints"
let my little ~~nudist~~ painter go to town with her "canvas" and we had a blast.

I would highly recommend this to anyone with toddlers.

This kept Eloise busy for almost an hour!

and don't think the gracie didn't want to join in...

in fact, she still has some blue in her hair from where Eloise decided she would "paint" her.

Gracie would not leave the tub...

she just had to know what all the fun was about.

and clean up was a breeze...everything literally washed off with water...

and while I was at it, I went ahead and cleaned the tub...

you know, with the magic eraser

(aren't those things AH-MAZING?!?!)

and some Mr. Clean/Febreeze bathroom cleaner.

Looks like nothing ever happened, right?!?

I mean seriously...if you haven't joined pinterest yet...just go ahead and join the 21st century...

A weekend of firsts....

First off let me say I don't know what to think about this new blogger... it has taken me forever to load pictures, I type in certain things and they aren't showing up when I look at the published version...so if things are missing I am sorry...it is not my fault.

Aww... what a weekend of firsts. What a fabulous weekend of firsts.

This was the first weekend for college football.
What? Don't even try to pretend like you don't know what happened with Baylor football this weekend.
Even if you DON'T watch Baylor football...the second you turned on ESPN you had no option but to see how incredible Baylor played. Not to mention that we ~~killed~~ beat the TCU frogs...thank the good Lord. Maybe they will shut up for a while about how incredible their defense is.

But, anyway....back to the weekend of first..

So...I had been counting down the DAYS until opening weekend..

we packed up our car, Eloise made sure our house was locked, and we were on our way.

On Thursday night, Diddy spoke to a bunch of Baylor students. You know, it was one of those lectures that you ~~can attend~~ are forced to attend for extra credit.

Then on Friday morning, we woke up early and hit our favorite coffee spot...

OH the memories of Common Grounds.

I could drink a frozen mochachino every.single.day.

And this was officially Emerson's FIRST time to Common Grounds

Pretty girl liked it.

Eloise has had an obsession with with straws lately...

she literally took my drink and wouldn't give it back!!

Thank goodness my drink was caffeine free.


and I'm not going to lie.. we took a stroll through campus right when classes were switching. Oh the looks we received. What? you aren't used to seeing a double stroller on a college campus??

Although I had to leave at half time because my girls were both sleepy, Walt was able to stay...and guess what...WE WON!! I went back to the hotel where my sister was and we watched the game on t.v...it pretty much gave both of us a heart attack!! And this was the first time we beat a #15 or higher ranked team since

1991!!

and then there was College Game Day with RG3...he truly is a wonderful person. Here he is with the beautiful Erin Andrews... So proud he is leading our bears!! and he is now #4 for the Heisman and we are now ranked #20...WOO HOO!! GO BEARS!!

While at the hotel, Eloise and I watched our FIRST movie together. It was Tangled... what a precious, precious movie!!Don't you love her choice of a chair??

Of course we HAD to go back on Baylor campus on Saturday before leaving Waco. Here is Eloise just running around her future campus.

So many memories of this place. What a beautiful campus!!

I love this picture...it reminded me of what Walt and I will look like when we come up to Baylor to visit our girls...

Then it was off to one of our friend's ranch houses down in Hearne. This was great because it was half way home for us, so the girls didn't have to stay in the car for too long.

sweet Pat, whom Eloise has become quite fond of, took her to ride in the truck. She loves Pat.

After a ride on the golf cart, Eloise passed out. We were touring the new house and E was so tired that we placed her on the mattress and she didn't even wake up... it was hilarious!

I decided to join her..she did not budge! she was sooo tired from a fun day!!

Saturday night was great...we ate some Bush's chicken, watched some football, played Scattergories...and McKamy...well, McKamy changed his FIRST diaper.. although Emerson decided she would pee all over him...he still did a great job!!

And Sunday morning, we, as in me, Poco and McKamy, woke up and took a nice little walk around the ranch

then we enjoyed some coffee on the front porch

and E decided she would just go off on her own

we relaxed

and it was the FIRST time Eloise had seen/pet a horse!
Pat was nice enough to bring her out on a rope with the hopes the Eloise would ride her, but Eloise is in fact, my child, and didn't want to ride the horsey.

and Emerson has some news to share.....

she was kind of unsure about it at first...

didn't really know if she would like it...

but..the verdict is out..

and it was her FIRST time to try oatmeal...

and we now LOVE it!!

this is the FIRST time it hasn't been 95+ degrees in who knows how long.

we have already taken numerous walks, played at the park, and can actually go back to our outside time during the day...

so...in honor of this cooler weather, and the fact that fall is a' coming...

i had to dress up these two cuties in their pumpkin dresses....

well...i'd say that it is safe to say that this last weekend was the last "official" weekend of summer.
i mean, i love you summer and all...but this year our relationship has been brutal.
i've always loved you...but this year, i hated you.
of course, i love the memories that we have created...but i am glad that our relationship is over...
ok, well we are taking some time off...
and i mean, it's not like i am so excited about this coming weekend....
not like Baylor football is kicking off in 4 days, 4 hours, 7 minutes and 10 seconds...
not like i am counting or anything.

but in all sincerity, summer...i do love you
and i will be happy when you roll around again next year...
i can't believe that last summer i had this...

and at the start of this summer i had a newborn...
who is now a beautiful "baby"

my how time really does fly.

so...how did we end our last weekend of the summer..
by going to the beach of course..

we spent the weekend beaching it...swimming, eating pizza, grilling burgers, going for a boat ride, running free on the beach...
it.was.perfect.
such a relaxing weekend
E threw on the appropriate hat the second we walked in the cabin...
and after her snack, she was ready to hit the water

and me and miss em had some great snuggling time...
now that her medicine has really kicked in, this little thing is all about loving on you.

even though gracie hates the water...i'm talking terrified...

just some highlights of the weekend

i decided since the dress was a target clearance special...
and since you are only little once...
i would let her run free and show me what being a kid is all about

don't worry, we were stopped in the ocean...had the anchor down, and we took her life jacket off so she could swim with daddy (the water was shallow) the life jacket came on the moment we started going again.

I've been so busy lately...I needed to step back and really appreciate all that i have...

from my view i see a child who knows she is loved

and who is very happy

a messy play room...
which means my children have had fun
and
they have more than enough

a little girl who is in love with a certain cartoon...
which means that she is growing everyday...
so i'm thankful

a bed that is made..
this means that my husband was out of town (i don't ever sleep in the bed when he's gone)
but..he is a provider

clean dishes...
we must have had a good meal

and a smile
before bedtime

i think from my view.. i'm living a pretty blessed life.

seriously? summer has already FLOWN by...

and school starts
TOMORROW
strange, but....i am not sad.
i really thought i would be sad,
BUT
i am not.
disappointed that i won't get to see my friends every single day...
disappointed that i won't be able to teach about the subjects that i love {reading, writing, Texas history}
but...i am not sad.
maybe because i have agreed to be the floating tutor at my elementary school...
which means i will be there on mondays and tuesdays starting at the end of october and going through april.
no papers to grade, no staff meetings, no "lesson plans"
just me, and a small group of kids
and my girls will get to play with other friends 2 days a week
perfect solution if you ask me!

but...
i did want to make something for all my team members...
and i wish i could take credit for the idea,
BUT...
i.can't.
however, i think the teacher goodie boxes turned out super cute...

has a lot of words she can say and her favorite phrase is now "thank you"
is doing very well in the potty training area...we hardly ever have accidents now
and she has even gone three times all by herself without telling me...i didn't notice until i kept wondering why she hadn't asked me to go potty yet only to realize that she had already gone.
has the most exuberant personality
loves her dog, Gra-CIE
can't go anywhere without her dolly and blankie
is OBSESSED with Bubble Guppies...she will sit still and watch the ENTIRE show..mesmerized
is quite the opposite of her sister...

i was reading a friend's blog and they made this ice cream sandwich casserole...
well, if anyone knows my darling husband they know that he WON'T eat casseroles...

i found the ONE casserole that he WILL eat.

i went out and bought all the ingredients...
PLEASE, go make this.
OH SO GOOD...like, i couldn't STOP eating it...
i mean seriously...
i found myself eating this for breakfast every day this week.

i mentioned earlier that E LOVES her some bubble guppies...
well, this could be a sign that you KNOW she is a toddler...and you might be awful if she knows that after bubble guppies she has to go to bed, so you have secretly recorded several on your DVR, so you can play them anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour BEFORE bedtime...so that she goes to bed early...
no, i don't.

oh my goodness it is hot.
like miserably hot.
so hot, that there really isn't anything we girls can do during the day besides stay inside.
i can't take two girls to the pool by myself.
we go for a run/walk usually around 9...and i take the girls out in their diaper (well big E wears her big girl panties....still potty training)
but, after that...it's TOO darn hot to do anything.
hurry up fall...
i know that EVERYONE else in Texas is with me on that one.
so..
what do i do to pass the time?
yes, yes, i play with eloise, we read, we build blocks, we color, we do all that stuff...
BUT..
i also..
take TONS of pictures.

if you are reading my blog, it doesn't take long for you to see that i love my two little girls more than anything in the whole wide world.
i have always wanted to be a mother.
i remember MY mother getting magazines in the mail, when i was a kid, and i used to go through and look at the strollers and cribs and try to imagine what it would be like to be a mom.
i remember how it felt when i thought at one point in time that i might not ever get to be a mom.
i remember the moment i found out i was pregnant with both of my babies, i loved them unconditionally from the start.
i remember the second i felt both of my girls on my chest...my heart was literally beating out of my chest with the love that i had for them
unconditional love...that is what a parent has for their child.
i can't even begin to imagine how i ever lived without my two girls...
i can't even begin to imagine how i WOULD ever live without my two girls.
the joy, the love, the overwhelming sense of compassion that my girls bring me...my life with them is complete.
they ARE my entire world.
i go to bed thinking about them, i wake up anxious to see their faces.

for sometime now i have been reading kara's blog.
although, i don't personally know kara....i have a lot of friends who do.
and kara and i have things in common
for one we are both mothers
two...we love our children with a love so strong and pure
and three...we love our alma mater...baylor

i will be honest...
i would check kara's blog every single night before bed.
i would cry.
tears streaming down my face...
tears streaming down because her and her husband wrote so beautifully about their sweet James.
i often wondered "how could they be so strong?"
but they were strong for James
tears streaming down my face because i cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through
and tears streaming down my face because i know how deeply they love their James...as i love my two girls with a love that deep.

and i would pray...
i prayed to God that He would heal James and take away his pain...
and God did just that.
James is no longer in pain.
James is in heaven with our Heavenly Father

so...i am asking you, begging you...
in honor of sweet James
please do this one little thing
James is now a sweet angel in heaven...looking down and his momma and daddy
and James LOVED giraffes.
how ironic that a giraffe was born at the Dallas Zoo...the same zoo where James loved to spend time just several days after he went to be with Jesus.

really, my title should be instagram pics...
don't know what instagram is? if you have an iphone, i suggest you download the app.
what did i ever do without a picture phone?
every one of these pictures were taken on my phone.

here's my question...
my child is 18 months old...
she only eats baby food...
ok, yes, she will snack on anything that you give her...
cookies, crackers, yogurt, cake..you know..ALL the good stuff.
But, if i place "real" healthy food in front of her...she wants nothing to do with it
i'm not panicking...she will try anything i place in front of her...and CLEARLY my child isn't starving herself, but what are some tricks that you moms have done?

on another note...
we've been trying to take away the bottle...
it's hard when she sees emerson taking one...
and my child is so stubborn, she just won't drink ANYTHING all day long, except for when i give her, her nighttime bottle.
i can't take that away just yet.
whew...my child has a STRONG personality..wonder where she got that from?

see..here she is eating an oreo just fine.
she actually ate a really good dinner, so i rewarded her.

and this little love bug...
we were supposed to go to dallas for the week to see my sister and her babies, and my mom and other sister...
but, this little girl has had some major issues spitting up...we now have her on two meds, and thicker formula...
it worked well for about a week, but now we are back to where we started.
don't really think it is doing the trick, we are testing her to see if she is allergic to the formula...so we decided to stay closer to home
do miss my family, though.
but..this smile..it makes it better.

and potty training is in full force at our house.
E and I go and water the plants every day...
so instead of putting on a diaper,
i decided to let her put on big girl cinderella panties...

here's the stinker with her bottle..
but, she is helping out her little sis..

we took a dip in the pool on sunday with daddy and E...
after we got tired, Em and i just played under the umbrella

and she is working on sitting up....
she is really great and holding her head up

aww yes, today is my birthday.
last year before i hit the big 3-0.
maybe i should do something monumental this year to celebrate my last year in my twenties...
run a marathon, maybe? yeah right.
get pregnant? haha!
do something for someone else every day for the next year? sounds great, but won't happen.
Nah...i'll just keep doing what i am doing i guess.
i live a good life.

i've received some birthday love today on facebook..
facebook knows how to make you feel special huh?

my sweet momma got me the dress that i wanted...
picture=horrible iphone quality...
but, i will be sporting this dress at the first Baylor game this year...

oh and my sweet little darling husband got me my third band.
i know, i know...three bands?
well...i had two when we got married...
and emerson's birthstone is conveniently a diamond...so i asked for another band...this way i could wear all three...and wear my engagment ring on my right finger...which is the proper way to do it anyway, right?
i mean, i have eloise's birthstone...i HAVE to be fair to my other daughter.
that was the way i proposed it to walt.

Lalee, Pops, and Uncle Tucker got me a gift card to my favorite store ever....
HOBBY LOBBY!!

and if you remember correctly, little poco got us a birthday cake over the weekend...
and she had already gotten me a monogrammed pillow that i wanted.

and my sweet friend sarah got me the necklace that i wanted...two round charms with my girls' names stamped on them.

also, my dearest friend, sue, she got me a super hip top and scarf for what else??

i know it will take some time as well..i'm not expecting this to happen over night.
but...let me tell you...two girls in diapers...yeah, i'd rather spend that extra money on a new outfit or something...haha. not for me, for the girls. :)
and we are doing the completely bare down there method.....
she wears nothing down there...and the potty travels with us...bedroom, bathroom, kitchen...
hey...so far we are winning in the dept. of potty training.

Okay...i've been messing around with picasa 3, and i just had to post the above picture....thought it was cute and just wanted to post it for me.

so...on to the title...
anyone out there have any single lady friends?
i really don't think that my friend brett would be ok knowing that i am pretty much "auctioning" him off...BUT...he is super duper amazing with children
i'm talking this guy has more patience than any other man that i have ever seen...
and i guess it doesn't hurt that my oldest baby is completely head over heels in love with brett...or "uncle" brett as we call him
brett is single
brett makes it a point to come over quite often to hang out with us...
however, when he is here he is often found hanging out with eloise.
i can't wait for the day when i walk in and find her daddy and her uncle brett all dressed up playing tea party with her...boas, hats, the works
brett was the first "non family member" to give my second daughter a bottle
if either of my babies cry he just holds them and loves on them until they stop...
ok..i'll stop going on and on about brett...

we are so thankful for uncle brett

ahhh...what an incredible weekend i just had.
i love/hate this weekend for specific reasons...
i love this weekend because it is one of the only times that i can get away with closest friends and hang out with no interruptions
i hate this weekend because even though it is perfect in every single way, it almost symbolizes the end of summer
but what fun we have
i was so incredibly thankful that my mom, gambi, came into town to watch my baby loves
we left on friday and went to down galveston to hang out at our friend's beach house....
we play card games, go out on the boat, swim at the pool, grill out, sleep late...it's like college all wrapped up into 2 days...
i get just enough to then want to go back home to my real life...haha.

i always love spending this time at the beach with my birthday twin...aka, my sister, so that we can celebrate our birthdays together

walt and i on friday night...
we honestly didn't think we would stay awake past midnight...
but i will have you know that we are still awesome...
we stayed up until 3:30 in the morning...
yeah, we're awesome...
just sayin'

after sleeping in on saturday until 10
don't worry, i did get up at 6 and then decided i should probably go back to sleep
we then packed up some lunch and spent the day on the boat...so much fun, jet skiing, listening to music, just hanging out with the best of friends

last week eloise, emerson and myself were in dallas spending some time with family, while the mister stayed in h-town and worked.
we all drove up there together last saturday to see our newest niece/cousin.
preston(walt's brother) and his wife, (ashley) just had their first baby.
a sweet baby girl, presley ann.
we were so excited to go up to dallas and see the newest Bass.
and thankfully, i was able to stay in dallas and hang out with my mom, and my sister.
i felt like i was on vacation...no house to clean, only had to do laundry with the items we packed...didn't have to cook. it was great!
so, on saturday we ventured out to sachse to see miss presley.
preston and ashley live near a little lake, this was eloise before going inside to meet her new cousin.

i have a 3 month old and a 17 month old.
but i tell you what....after holding a "new" baby...ohhhh i had baby fever and was ready to try again.
ok...i hate the being pregnant part...
but, the newborn part of it, the late night feedings, the sleeping on your chest, the lack of sleep...
yep, totally ready for it again.
i know, crazy, right? like i said...i HAVE a 3 month old at home...but she seemed so big compared to sweet presley.
don't worry...i can assure you i am taking some time off, before having another baby. :)

thankfully gambi was able to keep E pre-occupied for just a little while....

walt's aunt, uncle and cousin were in from delaware...and it was wonderful to see them.

you have a golf cart to ride around in the pasture with...
uncle tucker and eloise took a golf cart ride..uncle tucker went so incredibly fast, and what did E do while riding in my lap?

well, now that he has matured to the ripe old age of 13...and is now an uncle to 3 girls...he has become a pro...

we then went to the state park.

and then the greatest thing happened.
we went back to the state park on saturday night with the intentions of watching the sunset..but...
IT RAINED!
now i know i sound dramatic when i say that eloise really hasn't ever seen rain before...
but, think about this...it hasn't rained more than a 1/2 inch in houston since january...
so she definitely doesn't remember rain, right?
so what did we do?
we played in it.
we danced, we sang, we ran around...
i hate getting wet (unless i am in a bikini on a beach)
but...this was one of the happiest moments of my life
watching my oldest daugher dance in the rain...screaming with joy...
nothing else mattered at that moment...

then after the rain, we went straight to the show to see Pops.
Pops loves showing off his grandgirls...

sunday morning was spent being lazy...
wait, didn't i tell you that walt has been doing A LOT of sleeping lately?
Yes, this is still true.
But...at least i only had one little love to worry about. :)

we then got ready for church...here is pops and emmy c spending some time together before church

and i wanted to show you this picture to compare it with the next one.
this is eloise in her little smocked frog dress at her boast and toast...she was almost 3 months old.

and here i am this past sunday with emerson in the exact same outfit...(although she isn't looking at the camera), and i am holding her exactly the same way...and there is my hair...longer, shiny, cute?
which one is better? i am debating on whether or not i should cut it...
I'm thinking after looking at these two pics...i like this one better...
thoughts? i mean geez, if you are STILL reading this...then you love me enough to comment on which way you like my hair. :) haha....
