Weekend Fun!

Look at my sweet baby sitting up and ALL smiles!!

YES...I know I'm cute!

This past weekend Baylor played Rice, which meant that we had company in town.
LOVE when company comes to town...lots of good memories and tons of great friends.
Aunt Poco and Lauren got into town on Friday night. Walt let the girls go out to dinner and he stayed home with Miss Eloise and did all of the nightly duties.
I love it even more when my sister comes to town.
Saturday morning we got up, watched some College Game Day and just took it easy around the house.

Clap Eloise, Clap!!

For those of you who have seen Wicked
"Green Babies Rule!"

Saturday afternoon we ventured over to our friend's, Pat's house. While we were there we were able to finally see Uncle Preston, Sue and Matt, Pat and Tyler.
We hung out over there for a while before the Baylor game.
We watch Texas v. UCLA and just had fun hanging out.
(The pic is blurry, but) Uncle Preston playing peek-a-boo with Eloise

Eloise LOVES Uncle Preston,
how could you not??

watching the Texas game

It never fails, every time Matt gets around Eloise, she cries.
Eloise is not a crier, but she can throw a wall-eyed fight for Matt.
I was so happy to FINALLY catch Eloise in a good mood around Matt.

The classic Sue and Mer pic Eloise can't ever get enough of Sue

After we left Pat's house,
we headed over to our friend, Brett's house.
While we were there we were able to hang out with Brett, Corey and Ashley.
We all went to dinner at Dolce Vita down in Mid-town.
We had a fabulous night, and great food.
New Family Pic

Aunt Poco and Uncle Preston had to get in on the action with their niece Eloise!!

Ashley and Corey taking turns feeding Miss E

Clearly Eloise loves Corey's nose

After a long day with friends we FINALLY made it to the game.
Here are Aunt Poco and Eloise giving their best
Sic'Em!

and wouldn't you know the second we got there
we had a weather delay. Every time it lightening, we had to wait another 30 minutes....so we waited....

and waited....

and waited some more....

then Eloise decided she would have her dinner with Aunt Poco
Thank goodness for Aunt Poco, always there to help, always coming to visit,
always taking time out to see her sister...love you!
Aunt Poco, Uncle Brett and Eloise....waiting on the rain, thunder and lightening to pass....

Preston and Walt anxious for the game to start back up....

Eloise said, "Forget this...I'm going to take a nap."
and that spot is a lot more comfier than mom's spot...
hahaha

Uncle Preston thought Eloise had a great idea, and he took a little nap too.

the game FINALLY started back up.
We won... we are now 3-1 baby!
Walt and I ended up getting home around 11:15ish,
everyone else went out...and what fun they had.
We were able to hear all about it the next when everyone came over to watch the
Cowboys! another win there!!
We had a great, fun, eventful weekend...
Once everyone left...this is what Miss E did...

and she didn't wake up until 7:20 Monday morning! We wore her out!

Someday

oh my goodness. i can't even begin to put into words how FAST these little things called babies grow! here is eloise at 7 days....i mean, have we had the fast forward button on constantly?? i can't hardly even believe that she is 7 months old now. in the picture above my mother is placing her on the mr. froggy...and now...heck, she can sit up on her own and practically crawl over to her designated picture spot. sigh.
so here's my question: where on earth did my baby go?

this past weekend we packed everything up, once again and ventured back to good old north east texas. it was mine and walt's 10 year reunion. unfortunately i woke up on thursday morning with a horrible sty on my left eye.
sty? who cares, right?
ha...not me. i am too vain. i care waaaayyyy to much about my appearance and i made the decision that i was not going to let my old classmates see me like that.
so what did i do? i went home, hung out at lalee and pop's house and went and visited my grandparents. did i go to my reunion?
NO.
do i regret it?
YES.
but...in ten MORE years, right?
so..this blog post consists of pictures of eloise and her daddy, because we all know i didn't take any pictures of myself with that horrible sty.
i will say that one of my dear friends came over to my nana and poppy's and hung out with me for a while, and that was great.
my highschool friend, cassie, hadn't ever met eloise, so it was so fun to catch up with her.
i knew she wouldn't judge me...sty or no sty.

on friday before we left to go home, i woke eloise up real early and put on her saturday outfit. i had to make sure it still fit...so while i was doing that, i took some pictures.
if she looks sleepy, it's because she is!
imagine having someone dress you up all fancy at 6:30 in the morning...
leave it to me!

we all had fun over at super nana's and super poppy's house. eloise had fun rolling around on the floor and TRYING to crawl. we.are.ALMOST.there!!
i love all of her expressions now...they are priceless.

love these two

eloise LOVES her daddy

uncle tucker made sure to make the most horrible looking face while i took this picture.
he wants everyone to think that eloise hasn't won him over,
BUT
she has...he loves her.
he LOVES to make her smile.
what a great uncle.

after our visit with the g-parents
eloise decided to take a nap and in her favorite spot.
i hope she always sleeps this way.

and on sunday miss eloise turned
SEVEN MONTHS!

she can now officially sit by herself

she's clearly teething,
but i've been saying this for months
we still have NO teeth
(she's a baldy AND she's toothless)

she's always happy
just today in HEB the cashier commented on how happy she was.
i'd like to think it is because of her parents. :)

eloise has learned to clap her hands.
if you clap, she will repeat after you.

she's getting into everything
this little lady cannot sit still

what else is she up to?
She is eating 7 oz. every 5 hours.
she eats babyfood 3 times a day
she currently LOVES the turkey and rice baby food
she does sleep through the night
she is extremely talkative
we have started some solid foods
she loves to play games

now onto the title of my post.
i am a reader.
i love to read.
and i hope that one day i pass this passion onto eloise.
i THOUGHT that i knew every children's book out there.
i was wrong.
how i missed this one, i don't know.
when eloise turned 6 months old, my dear friend Sarah gave eloise a present.
oh. my. goodness.
if you have not ever read this book,
you are missing out.
i am sure that everyone knows the book,
"I'll Love You Forever."
I do remember reading this book to eloise and thinking,
"why don't they have a book about a mother and a daughter?"
they do.
it's called Someday.
i read it to eloise almost every night and i STILL
CRY.
it's the most amazing book ever.
thank you Sarah for thinking of us!

we are getting all geared up for the weekend.
baylor plays rice in houston!
saturday night....8:00!!
we have a lot of friends and family coming in town and we can't wait!
i've told eloise that she needs to rest up...
they are going to be a lot of people who want to love on her.
looks like she took my advice.

sweet dreams sweet baby girl!
