Announcing....

Announcing....

Front
Inside

We sent out our birth announcements on Monday...I was so happy with the way they turned out!

Yesterday Eloise and I went for her 6 week check up....she had to get her first round of shots...let's just say that both of us cried. I tried really hard not to shed any tears, but when you hear a cry that you have never heard before, and you know your baby is in pain, it is pretty darn hard! What made it worse was that I was holding her hands and she was just looking up at me crying with tears coming out of her eyes. We had a rough day after that. She was very sore, and she only wanted to be held all afternoon. I was totally fine with doing that.
Eloise has been doing great in the sleep department. We are now getting put down to go to dream land around 10-10:30 and she sleeps until 2-2:30. She then gets put back down around 2:30-3 and sleeps until 6:30-7:30. Of course, this routine will be slightly changed when she starts daycare next week as Walt leaves the house at 6:30 and he will be taking her to school. Hard to believe that I have less than a week left with my baby. It's been a great experience, and to know that I have 6 weeks left until summer makes it much easier for me to go back to school.
Here are Eloise's 6 week stats from yesterday:
Height: 21.3 inches Percentile: 50%
Weight: 9 pounds 9 ounces Percentile: 25-50%
Head Circumference: 14.9 Percentile: 25%
She's growing bigger every day! Here she is after she finished crying at the doctor's...poor baby...she cried herself straight to sleep.

But what about......

GRACIE??

2 post in one day...this doesn't mean that Eloise has slept all day...just the opposite...BUT for the 15 minutes that she closed her eyes, I wrote two post!!

Everyone has asked me...but what about Gracie?
Gracie has been WONDERFUL.....beyond wonderful actually. She is the best Big Sister. She is so sweet... when I get up in the middle of the night to feed her, she actually gets up off the bed and goes out into the living room with me, and sits with me while I feed Eloise.

Gracie kisses Eloise all the time...not once has she ever tried to scratch her, or hurt her.

Gracie is very protective. If someone picks up Eloise that Gracie isn't quite sure about, you best believe that she is right there letting that person know that she does NOT approve.

When Eloise cries...Gracie runs right over to her to see what is wrong.

Anytime I go into Eloise's room to change her...Gracie follows and just sits on the floor and waits for us to do our thing. I love this time because I talk to Eloise and Gracie.

If Eloise takes a nap in her crib during the day, Gracie goes in her room and sits beside her crib.

Gracie watches over Eloise when she is in the playpen on the floor. She wants to make sure that no one is going to do anything to hurt her.

Gracie still gets tons of attention. Daddy sings to her, she still sleeps in our bed (on my side), she gets a lot more treats than normal, and when we go for walks, we make sure that she is leading us.

When people come over to our house, they always give her attention...she has been around more people in the past couple of weeks than her entire life...she thinks everyone is here for her.

Miss Gracie is doing wonderfully....and yes, she is still our first baby.

Momma and Daddy LOVE YOU, Miss Gracie!
xoxoxo

What a weekend

What a weekend we had in the Bass household! Walt and I are so extremely thankful for all of our family and friends that always take time out of their busy schedules to make time for us! Friday night started off with Walt and myself going to the Baylor game. Baylor made it to the sweet 16 and we had tickets. Walt and I decided that it would be best to leave this little beauty here:

at home. She stayed at the house with all my co-workers.
I mean seriously? Who else can say that they work with a group of girls that would be willing to give up their Friday night, so that their co-worker can go to a basketball game with her husband? I am so blessed. They hung out with Miss Eloise, ordered chinese food and watched The Blind Side. When Walt and I got home on Friday night, Miss Eloise was sound asleep, and spoiled rotten! So thankful for my friends! Oh? What's that you ask?? How did Baylor do? Here was the score from Friday night's game:

so of course we advanced to the Elite 8! WAHOO! GO Baylor!! I am so proud to be a BEAR!!

Friday night when we got home, Uncle Preston came with us. This was his first time to meet his niece because remember she was in the NICU. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of him with her... I will have to make up for that this weekend when we go home for Easter!
On Saturday, Walt and a bunch of his guy friends went to the St. Arnold's Brewery here in Houston. After the brewery, they all came over to the house to meet Miss Eloise. I was shocked at how well all these guys were with her! Either they are really great with kids... or I have a little heartbreaker on my hands...
Here's Ryan with her

Look at Eloise just staring up at him

Good Ole' Patty B...he was a natural!

"Uncle" Matt and Miss Eloise!

Loved Tyler with her! He was so cute...I've never met a guy that wanted to see all her clothes in her closet!!

Saturday night was a blast! Daddy stayed him with Eloise (for the first time!) and let Mommy go out and have fun with her girls! This was so fun! Poco came in on Thursday night, and she went out with me on Saturday night! I felt special...she did my makeup and let me wear her clothes...I had the best time just getting ready with her! It's been so long since I have gone out, I forgot how much fun I always have just being with Poco while we get ready! Thank you Poco for driving all the way in to go to the game, hanging out with Eloise and then letting me have so much fun! Love you more than you know! (Now... don't look at how tan she is, and how pale I am!)
The night started off, by Poco and I going over to Sarah's house. We had appetizers and drank some wine... Sarah is quite the hostess!
Here's me and Miss Sarah

And here I am with Sarah and Melissa...love my girls

We then went to a cute little wine bar and ordered some wine and cheese. It was fun to sit out on the patio with my girls and just gossip! Here I am with my fabulous partner Emily. I LOVE my job so much...but she makes it even better!!

On Sunday, we packed up everything and headed out to the Baylor vs. Duke game. We arrived at Reliant Stadium 2 hours before the game so we could tailgate. I've never seen so many Baylor fans!! It was awesome! Baylor played a great game and it was neck and neck the entire time! Too bad the outcome wasn't what we wanted...but hey... we were ranked 10th in the Big 12. at the beginning of the season... and we ended up going to the Elite 8..I think Baylor proved everyone wrong!
Here are some pics from the game...Walt used the Baby Bjorn to carry Eloise in:

Me and my Baylor Cheerleader...Eloise's FIRST Baylor GAME!! and MANY more to come!!

The score at halftime

Sweet Eloise...she did so great the entire game! She ate, slept and then stayed awake the entire second half! The noise didn't bother her at all!
Family PIC!

"Aunt" Sue finally got to meet Miss Eloise! We were SOOO excited to see her!

Me with my FAVORITE Baylor fan! LOVE going to all the games with "Aunt" Sue and "Uncle" Matt!

Whew! What a weekend!! We had so much fun and are reminded on a daily basis how lucky we are. Very excited about the weekend ahead! Easter in Daingerfield! We'll be going home on Thursday, then on Friday we will get to see Nana and Poppy (first time for them to meet Miss Eloise) and Aunt Poco (4th weekend for her to see her niece...hmm..that's one amazing AUNT!) Saturday will be spent at two Easter egg hunts, and then church and lunch on Sunday! Think I might have a ton more pics to post!!

Little Stinker

This little stinker (no pun intended) right here pulled a fast one on me today...When I switched her to formula she started having a time going to the bathroom. After 2 weeks of not being able to do it by herself, I decided it was time to call the doctor. We had an appointment today at 10:45... and who decided to make herself known in the waiting room, having a HUGE blowout around 10:40, and make mommy look like an idiot?? Yep...you guessed it... this face below...and man she was very happy after it happened:

And WHO has been up since 9 a.m. this morning and it is currently 9:00 p.m.? (let's not comment on the fact that she is a chunky monkey at the moment)

What does she have to say about this?
Na-na Na-na Boo Boo!

Eloise meets some more of her family.....

It's been spring break week here in the Bass household...which means visitors...because I married into a family of teachers. This also meant for me some much needed girl time. Lalee and Uncle Tucker came in on Wednesday. This was Uncle Tucker's first time to meet his niece Eloise. What fun Walt and I had watching Tucker with her. He had some pretty funny questions as well:
"Hey Mer...can she crawl yet?"
"Have you started teaching her how to talk?"
"Well...can she at least play peek a boo?"
I think Tucker was shocked that pretty much all Eloise does is sleep, eat, poop, and cry. He was great with her though. He held her with two hands, and was very gentle. We had fun laughing at her funny faces and he even gave her some loving. Tucker was Eloise's first Uncle to meet and she had so much fun with him. Lalee helped me out greatly. She let me go out with one of my girlfriends on Thursday and she watched Eloise. We went to lunch, went shopping, got pedicures, and then we even met up with 3 of my teacher friends and had happy hour. It was great! Of course I missed my precious baby....but, getting out of the house and doing something for me was good too! It reminded me how much I miss my girls from work...and then of course I was reminded that I go back to work in 2 and a half weeks, and I started to get just a wee bit sad....only because who wouldn't want to see Eloise's face every second of every day?

Here's Uncle Tuck with his niece

All smiles from Uncle Tuck and Lalee

Such a great Uncle...he holds her better than her own daddy!!

Laughing at one of her many crazy faces!!

Lalee and Uncle Tucker left on Friday. But...Walt and I weren't alone for long because Uncle Spencer and Aunt Lauren came in town from Boerne. We were very excited to see them as well! (Because Eloise was in the NICU none of our family was able to see her....so this is why the delay in seeing her family members.) Uncle Spencer and Aunt Lauren showed up around 10:30 on Friday night. Of course Eloise decided to stay awake for them and we hung out until around 1 in the a.m. The next morning we woke up to horrible weather. I had planned for us to go to the Arboretum and have a picnic, BUT that was all changed. A horrible cold front came through on the first day of spring, but thankfully Spencer and Lauren and VERY laid back and they were just fine hanging out around the house.

Eloise started off her morning with story time from Uncle Spencer. She was VERY much into it!!

After kolaches at the house, and some much needed baby time we decided to venture out to Houston and go eat at the Yardhouse. Great food and great atmosphere...we were able to watch some of the NCAA games and the guys tried out some different beers. This was Eloise when we got to the restaurant:

Here are Uncle Spencer and Aunt Lauren! We had so much fun just hanging out with them!!

Momma and Daddy enjoying some great company

and this was Eloise when we left!

After lunch we came back home to watch our Baylor Bears play Old Dominon. Spencer and Lauren HAD to root for the Bears since their Longhorns lost in the first round! (love rubbing that in) Of course our Bears made us proud and we had a couple celebratory drinks in honor of the win! Now Walt and I have already purchased tickets to watch Baylor play on Friday since they made it to the sweet 16!! This is one of the reasons why we were thankful for living in Houston!
After the game, we ventured out yet again to eat at our favorite bbq restaurant, Swinging Door. Spencer and Lauren liked it as well...and our waitress even offered us free food for a year if she could take Eloise home with her! Our sweet baby slept the whole time and she didn't make a peep!
On Sunday morning Eloise spent her time hanging out with Aunt Lauren

clearly she loves her!

After some loving we all decided to go eat at Pot Belly's. Spencer and Lauren left from there and we were all sad to see them leave. We truly appreciate them coming! We love y'all! After their departure we ran some errands to Sam's and then to HEB. Think Walt and I are getting the hang of going out in public with Eloise! Then it was back home to watch Up in the Air and to get ready for another work week.
Walt and I are so excited for the Baylor Bears and we can't wait to see family that is coming in this weekend! Eloise gets to see Aunt Poco AGAIN....Poco has done a fabulous job of spoiling our little girl! She's seen her almost every single weekend since she has been born!! And she will meet Uncle Preston and Aunt Ashley for the first time.

Just had to snap this picture during our movie time together....there are no words!
