High Flying Weekend

The girls getting ready to go on the plane!

I love it when my sister comes to visit! On Friday, Poco, Jaclyn, and Lindsay drove down from Dallas to visit me! Friday night we grilled out and played Taboo. (always fun)
Saturday morning we got up and went to brunch at this wonderful place in Houston called Benjy's. While I was there I ate the following: french toast, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, banana nut muffin, apple muffin, and a chive and onion biscuit. I KNOW! Everyone else split their meal, but I ate all of mine...hey-O! hey, I figured that since everyone else was able to drink blood orange and white peach mimosas I could eat all I wanted!
After brunch, Pat asked it we wanted to go flying with him! Me, Walt, Poco and Jaclyn went with Pat to fly on his plan. He took us to the Bolivar Peninsula, and we also flew around Houston. I sat in the back and I took a nap when we flew over the ocean....it was so relaxing! Pas was a wonderful pilot and we had a blast!

Look at the pilot and co-pilot!!

Me and Poco....ready to go see Bolivar!!

Pat's navigational map!

Saturday night was spent celebrating birthdays! Poco, Walt, Pat and myself went and ate at The Grove with several friends to celebrate one of Walt's good friend's, Brett's, birthday. Once that shindig was over, we went out to Rice Village to celebrate one of the girl's on my team's birthday. Lindsay, Jacob, and Jaclyn joined us....and we stayed out until 3 a.m.!! We were able to celebrate the Baylor win (only to be disappointed the next day by the news that RG3 is out for the season) and celebrate Houston's win over Texas Tech.
The weekend was so much fun, and I always hate to see it end. Can't wait for this weekend when we go to Dallas to celebrate Mom's birthday and see family!! Make sure you check back next week for a 20 week baby bump picture..because there is definitely a bump now!!

The dancing that was going on...

The girls trying to talk to Baby Bass...in the pub, I know.

Lindsay was getting down...she just walked right up to this girl and starting dancing with her! One of the many reasons why I love her!

You have to kiss a lot of toads to find your prince

Gracie must have taken the title seriously. Man, has it been a busy last two weeks. In the last two weeks we have moved into our house, taken off the wallpaper in the guest bathroom, repainted it, found out what we are having, (I'll spill those results later....we're still giving it a little time just to "be sure"), been to Waco for the season opener, and taken Gracie to the emergency room.
On the day that we moved into our house, I was at school teaching. Walt decided that he would take the day off and help the movers, move in. Well, at some point in time the guys decided to take a break. While they were taking a break, Gracie started playing around with what they thought was a frog. She was very curious, and the guys were laughing, making fun of her. Gracie went down to attack the "frog" and play with it a little more.....come to find out the frog was a toad....a poisonous toad. Poisonous toads have a glad on their back that secrete poison....when Gracie went down to touch the toad, the toad secreted poison into her mouth. Walt and the other men did not see this happen, but within 20 minutes Gracie was throwing up everywhere. Walt decided to call the vet, and the vet told Walt that he needed to bring Gracie in immediately. Of course Walt called me, and I started crying...trying to hold it in, in front of all my kids. (I could just picture us moving into our house, withOUT Gracie.)
By the time Walt got to the vet, the vet examined Gracie and told Walt that it was a strong possibility that Gracie would not make it. She was given two injections to slow down her heart rate, and to stop the poison from reaching her stomach, and she was hooked up to an I.V. The doctor told Walt he would call him with hourly updates. Of course by this point in time Walt had already called me....you better believe I was on the phone, calling the vet asking if I could come and sit with my sweet Gracie. The answer was no....and I stayed at school. So..after about two hours the doctor called and said that Gracie was going to make it. Thank Goodness! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!
When I came home that day from school, Walt was sitting in his office, surrounded by a ton of boxes drinking a glass of wine...the first thing he said to me was..."We almost lost our daughter today." I just had to start laughing...one because I was thankful, two because I was so stressed and three because it had been an extreme day! We are so glad that our little one is doing just fine now...and Gracie still hasn't learned her lesson....everytime she goes out in the backyard...she goes after anything that jumps!

4 months!

*Disclaimer...my husband will not ever be a photographer...he does not have enough patience...so you will just have to deal with the pictures, because after about 6 of them, he got annoyed and said, "I give up."*
Happy Labor Day Everyone! Why do these three day weekends always go by so quickly and then the rest of the week just drags on?? This should be quite an exciting week for me and Walt. We close on our house Wednesday and we will move in, FINALLY, on Friday! Technically, Walt and I have been living out of suitcases since we left to go to London. We left to go to London on JUNE 8th! Oh goodness it is about time to see my furniture again and all of my decor. I think Friday is going to feel like Christmas to me! Hurry up and get here!
This weekend was great! We spent Friday night in downtown Houston where we went to the Angelika movie theater to see Inglorious Basterds with our friends Pat and Sara. The movie was extremely violent, but for a Tarentino movie it was actually pretty good. (I'm not a huge fan.) Saturday was spent doing what else?? WATCHING BAYLOR FOOTBALL! I must say that I am in LOVE with this quarterback:

That's right...I. Love. Baylor's own, Robert Griffin. Man...did it feel good to WIN a game, and against a team that is pretty legit. We went to a Baylor watch party at Sawyer's Bar in Houston where we saw plenty of old Beta friends and it was great to catch up. Afterwards, several of us went out to eat to celebrate our night. Go Bears! Go Bears! Walt and I have season tickets...so cross your fingers that this is a good season for Baylor!!
All in all our weekend was great, and relaxing. Today marks my 4th month of carrying our sweet Baby Bass. Like I said at the beginning of this post...Walt tried to do a good job of taking pictures, but in all honesty, he is never the person that you turn to and ask if he would take a group picture. This just isn't his talent. My belly seems to be bigger towards the end of the day, so I waited and tried to get a couple of good pics. Please excuse the hair and the no make up face...Walt and I layed out today with our good friend Sarah and I had just blown my hair dry...but hey, at least I'm sporting that Baylor Bear shirt! Hope everyone has a great "short" week. I've had plenty of people ask for a belly pic...so here you go! (Don't forget to vote on the side as to what you think Baby Bass will be...I have my suspicions and Walt has his...we'll just have to see who's right!)
