Ready or Not....

Right now I have the Fugees playing in my head... Ready or Not Here I Come and You Can't Hide....

  • Today I went in for an appointment.... I am 34 weeks today....and boy did the Dr. give me some news.
  • Our little girl is NOT going to wait until her due date to make her debut....Dr. is 100% sure about that....
  • I have been given a prescription to stop the contractions that I am already feeling...if the prescription doesn't work...I'll be put on full bed rest...NOT what I wanted.
  • As of now, I am allowed to go to work, and come home and sit...partial bedrest, as my Dr. calls it.....
  • My Dr. knows Walt so well that she wrote him a prescription....it said things like he must cook, he must do laundry, he must be the one that does everything around the house, so I can just sit there...
  • This was hilarious to me, but I am extremely thankful that I have a husband who already does things like this for me around the house....
Am I excited?? Of course.... Yes... Thrilled...am I prepared...DEFINITELY not.
However... Walt and I have a childbirthing class this weekend, and THREE showers next week...
  • Let's hope and pray that my prescription works, and I am NOT put on bed rest...because we honestly do not have ANYTHING for Eloise yet...and after next weekend, we will.
  • Her bedding still hasn't come in...we had some difficulties, but it will be here this week...THANK goodness...
  • 37 weeks is the magic number... Dr. is going to do everything in her power to get her to 37 weeks, then she said after that she can come any time.
On a more personal note... she told me that her head was so far down that she doesn't understand how I am walking around...ha!
  • Eloise is not going to be an extremely big baby...which makes it all that much "easier" for me....wouldn't say labor is going to be easy.
  • So for now...guess I'll go to work tomorrow and get all my sub plans ready... and guess I'll be coming back from maternity leave a lot earlier than I thought!!
Please keep sweet Eloise in your prayers... let's pray that she decides to NOT come until the magic number... 37 weeks.

Sneak Peek.....

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Means

On New Year's Day, I had the honor to attend one of my dearest friend's wedding. Thomas and I grew up together and we have remained close throughout our lives. Thomas is hearing impaired and he married, Alexandria, who is also hearing impaired. To be able to experience this type of wedding, where there was so much love for one another and excitement to just get married was so refreshing! I loved being able to watch Thomas sign his vows to Alexandria and for her to be able to do the same. The wedding was by far one of the most loving and beautiful weddings I have ever been too. I am so glad that my very first day of 2010, was spent watching two people unite as one before God.

I was so excited to see Spencer and Poco!! We had a blast and I loved just being able to catch up with them. Next time I see these two....little Eloise will be here!!

Me and Walt at the reception. This is the dress that I am going to wear to my shower in Daingerfield...I was just too excited and had to wear it to this wedding as well!

LOVE my sister!! So incredibly thankful for her friendship!

I decided that I would give you all a little sneak peek of the nursery. It is not complete yet. We are still waiting on the bedding (should be here by then end of this week!) ,the curtains are not done yet, and I have something that still has to be hung on the wall. I am sure that I will go through and change something.....I just know it.

I love this saying on the wall, because this is where I am going to read stories to Eloise every night.

her changing table....there will be something on the wall to the left of this...it just hasn't been completed yet.

The sweet piggy bank that Lalee and Pops got Eloise!

Her name is hanging above her crib, but since I don't have the bedding yet, I didn't want to share the whole thing with you. :)

This print was hanging in Walt's room when he was born. Walt's grandmother bought it for his room. I fell in love with it. So, I decided to re-mat it and frame it...and it matches perfectly.
I love that I was able to use all of my Beatrix Potter stuff from when I was a little girl.

Once the bedding is here and the curtains are up, I promise I will post more!! Only 50 days until our due date...not that I'm counting or anything!!

Dear Feet

Dear Feet,
I think about you often and I wonder how you are doing. I promise within a couple of weeks I will be able to see you again. Walt said that you both looked pretty good the last time he painted your toenails; however, Poco said that your toenails looked horrible, and she repainted them. I have a feeling that they look better now. I really do appreciate you both....I just wanted you to know that I miss you and I long for the day to see you again. Until next time.....

Wine Bar + a Pregnant Woman= Stares

It's Christmas time...which also means that I get two weeks off of work.
Walt and I started our Christmas break by going up to Dallas to spend a couple of days with Poco and Preston and I hosted a wedding shower.
The wedding shower was at Vino 100, obviously a wine bar, in Dallas.
Yes...I know I am almost 8 months pregnant....but the looks that I received while inside the wine bar were quite hilarious.
Everyone else at the shower could drink, clearly, I couldn't.
Let's see, maybe I should have asked everyone to change the location of the shower because I am pregnant....I think not.
Since I was hosting this shower, I helped my sister pick out some wines for everyone to drink. There was a table of older people (I'm talking like 65-70 year olds...I must give them props for getting out and going to a wine bar.) and while I was looking at wines with Poco they will very blatantly look me in the eyes, and then slowly take their eyes down to my stomach.
This didn't happen once, twice or even three times....it happened from EVERYONE in their group.
I mean, WHO do they think they are?? I am NOT an idiot. Am I?
So, of course the manager of Vino 100 decided that he would bring me water in a wine glass, so they would continue to stare. It frustrated me, but it was also kinda funny at the same time. Yeah...here I am...8 months pregnant and drinking wine...I mean, SERIOUSLY?
After the shower we made our way to a non smoking bar called The MAT to meet up with Walt and some friends because the Cowboys were playing (and they won...that's right, take that Saints) and I made sure to put my huge purse over my belly so people wouldn't stare at me there.
I know this was slightly inappropriate to be in a bar, a NON SMOKING bar I might add, but all I was doing was going to meet my husband before he left for the night to go out with friends....this is harmless , right?
Well thank goodness my purse was big enough to cover my belly, because I had no inappropriate looks there....maybe because it was a bar, people were drinking, and the Cowboys had just beaten an undefeated team, so people just assumed I was fat?? or maybe they had been consuming a lot of alcohol....I'll go with the second option.
Now Walt and I are off to Daingerfield to spend a couple of days with his family for Christmas.
After Christmas it is back to Katy, where we will pretty much finish up our nursery (the bedding won't be here until January 4th) and I will be putting together maternity leave sub plans, because Eloise will be here before you know it!
It really is the most wonderful time of the year....even if you do get a couple of insulting stares 8 months pregnant at a wine bar.

Woo Hoo!

Well....I am now in my 29th week of pregnancy..that means 7 months and 1 week down.
I went to the doctor today, and oddly enough, she gave me some good news.
My last appointment was November 17th...and at the appointment I had gained 19 pounds total. Well today, I went back, stood on that scale and sucked in as much as I could. Guess what? I'd only gained ONE POUND... one pound, heck yes.
So that means that total I have gained 20 pounds... 29 weeks and 20 pounds later...think I'm on the homestretch.
In other news... Walt and I have recently purchased a baby doll for Miss Gracie to get used to. At first, she was deadly afraid of the dog....she'd run away any time I brought her out, I'm not gonna lie, yes, I was worried. But now, after countless times of holding the baby, feeding her, (yes, she even burps) and rocking her on the couch, Miss Gracie will come and sit by me and Walt with the baby. She has never actually tried to get in the middle of us, which is good. I think Gracie is going to be a great big sister. She knows something is up, because she doesn't have near enough room now to lay on my belly.
My mom came this weekend to help me with the nursery. I don't want to post any pics until it is finally done, but let me tell you I. AM. EXCITED.
Now it's off to finish addressing those darn Christmas cards... don't you wish they could just address themselves?
